we're not fun

| People think we're fun, or funny, or witty. Until they get to know us. Oh sure, naked thursdays and fresh-smelling shower hair seems like all fun and games, but only if that's where it ends, right? The problem is, that's only where it BEGINS! For one thing, not only do we go au naturale sans clothes, but we know for a fact that the aluminum in deoderants causes alzheimers and so all deoderant is banned! We only read Agatha Christie novels, and you can only read them out loud. So even if you are home alone, you have to call someone else in "the Fam" and read it out loud to them. We've had several knife fights resulting in someone reading ahead of other family members and revealing those killer Agatha Christie plots twists (you know who you are, yeah that's right rub that scar! Next time you'll declare chapter and page number before you start sharing huh!).
You're also required to join the Fam phone plan because we know it's the only one not being constantly monitored by the governement. Meddlesome freaks. Oh yes, and let's not forget that all children born to each generation are theme-named. Our youngest generation (Marmy's grandkid age, for example) are all following the Middle Earth tradition. So far we have a Gandalf, and Eowyn, and a Glorfindel. My vote for the generation to follow will be Harry Potter theme names!!!!! I love you Gryfindor!!!!! So you may think we all look friendly and maybe even a little silly, and you may be right, and you may continue to think that. Right up until you're stupid enough to marry into this clan conglomerate and get all smarty-pants and try to name your kid Annabel when she clearly should have been Galadriel. And then you'll have some scars to rub too. |
