We shop the Co-op, the B.E.S.T. Cooperative purchasing program, with Little TN Valley Educational Cooperative. The link is www.ltvectech.org. The Co-op provides a discounted price list on AT for TN. It also provides a complete vendor list on their website. I have tried, in my spare time, to access each website so that I can be familiar with the products that these companies provide. Through the co-op, I have discovered many new sites which relate to AT equipment. One of the sites I visited was www.toolfactory.com. It offers lots of wonderful software for Gen. Ed. and SPED. Tool Factory also provides strands of seminars for SPED. If there is a specific topic that anyone would like hear about, let me know. Maybe we can arrange for Tool Factory to visit Middle TN. Also, all product images can be taken directly from the website. This will allow you to use these images in your picture schedules and more.
So far, we have purchased the "Touch Games" 3 CD Set, "Sound Beginnings", "Alphabet Track" and "Tool Factory Music Monsters" 3 CD Set. I love the Sound Beginnings software. It really does work! Alphabet Track simply goes through the alphabet and since the software is not from the US, some of the pronunciations of the letters are not the same. The Music Monsters is really cool! I had a difficult time with the "Music Monsters" and the "More Musical Monsters". The "Mini Musical Monsters" was easy to use and we have elementary students using it. "Touch Games" is exactly that. This set of 3 is excellent for teaching mouse skills and using the touch screen. I plan to order many more programs from Tool Factory.....when I get more money!
