Breaking Even
Posted on March 9, 2008 at 06:41 PM
I played about 50 heads up matches over the weekend. I went break even over the stretch, which is not awful I guess. I had been running really hot. Even with that mediocre run, I still am winning about 65% of the time, and have a 25% ROI overall for heads up. Cannot complain about that.
Break even can be frustrating, but it is nice to have rakeback and an active bonus to help out.
I broke into the sharkscope leaderboard for 5.00 HU SnGs last week, but this run has seen me fall back off. I think I have about $185 total profit for 5.00 heads up, and 20th place is $195 or so. Maybe I can catch up.
However, cash games are still a lot more profitable I believe. I had been taking time away from them to play these, but this weekend I put in some time at the cash tables as well and brought up my net for the month to about 90.00.
I started with my roll at $500 this month. Currently I am at:
Stars: $430
Full Tilt: $320
--------------------
Total : $750
I guess that is OK for just doing my hobby over a 10 day period.
Sorry, I don't have any pokertracker data today, but here is my sharkscope graph showing the break even run.
One thing I have learned over this, is that I need to watch my tilt. I think I could have won a lot more of these matches, but I did myself in with tilt induced bluffs that were not going to work. Also, sometimes I got frustrated and just stacked off with a bad hand when I still had 400 chips or so left. Bad, bad plays. It is very easy to come back from being short stacked in these things. I have seen it happen many times... so I need to control tilt and find a way to win when I am down.
Take care!
